StellenangebotZur Förderung herausragender Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und Nachwuchswissenschaftler vergibt die Deutsche Statistische Gesellschaft jährlich den Wolfgang-Wetzel-Preis.Der Preis ist nach dem ehemaligen Vorsitzenden der DStatG benannt, der sich vor allem für die Stärkung der mathematisch-statistischen Methoden in der Gesellschaft einsetzte. Er wird während der Statistischen Woche vergeben und ist mit 1.000 Euro dotiert. Der Preis richtet sich an Nachwuchswissenschaftler bis maximal fünf Jahre nach der Promotion. Ausgezeichnet wird ein herausragender Beitrag zur statistischen Methodik und ihrer Anwendung. Der auszuzeichnende Beitrag besteht in der Regel aus einer bereits veröffentlichten oder mindestens zur Veröffentlichung angenommenen Publikation. Möglich ist auch die Auszeichnung mehrerer Publikationen, die mit unterschiedlichen Koautoren verfasst worden sind. Bei Koautorenschaften kann der Preis auch geteilt werden. Die Publikation (oder die Publikationen) müssen im Jahr der Preisverleihung oder in den zwei vorangehenden Kalenderjahren veröffentlicht bzw. zur Veröffentlichung angenommen worden sein. Der vorgeschlagene Nachwuchswissenschaftler muss kein Mitglied der DStatG sein. Eigenvorschläge sind nicht möglich. Die Vergabe des diesjährigen Preises erfolgt während der Statistischen Woche 2012 in Wien. Das Preiskomitee besteht in diesem Jahr aus Göran Kauermann, Stefan Lang und Wolfgang Schmid. The tenure track position will initially be realized in the group ‘Stochastic Operations Research’. The candidate will actively participate in the research within the Department and develop an independent research profile by seeking collaboration with colleagues in UT Research Institutes CTIT, MIRA and MESA+.
